Ultimate Cover Up Full Cover Face & Body Make Up from W7 works amazingly as a primer to completely cover horrible 5 o’clock shadow and also smooth out any blemishes and marks before applying your foundation. It has definitely been a favourite of mine for some time now, and I’d highly recommend it. That’s why I’ve decided to write my own little review of the product.
Ultimate Cover Up Foundation from W7
I first discovered Ultimate Cover Up from W7 about 3 years ago when I first came out as Trans and presenting femme. At the time, I was feeling quite dysphoric due to the constant shadow of facial hair that I could never seem to get rid of no matter how much I shaved my face. It felt horrible and would affect my self confidence knowing that I had a beard shining through my makeup.
Although my face would be as smooth as I could get it, I could still see that dreaded Blackish-Blue shadow shining through even after applying Foundation. I seriously needed to find a product that would take care of this shadow and mask it thoroughly. So that I could feel confident as content with my foundation when I was out and about. The Ultimate Cover Up took care of that brilliantly.
What is Ultimate Cover up?
Although the product is advertised as a Foundation, I personally found it amazing as a Primer. Almost like an undercoat for my foundation. This worked really well. Especially for hiding that nagging shadow that I was so glad to get rid of.
It has such a thick consistency that a tiny little drop of the product on the tip of your finger is enough to totally cover your whole chin and top lip area. Personally, I find that these are the areas where the shadow is usually at it’s worst for shining through your foundation.
A Smooth Face
It’s really good for smoothing out your skin before applying your foundation and gives your face a nice even texture, covering any marks. This can especially good for anyone suffering with Acne (although, be sure to cleanse thoroughly after use to prevent the acne worsening).
Covering Up Tattoos
As much as W7’s Ultimate Cover Up is great for your face, it can also be really good for using on the rest of your body should you want to cover up any scars or tattoos. It works really well for this. I’ve tried it out with my own Tattoos and the results were pretty impressive. I couldn’t even tell there had ever been a tattoo there, let alone still there but covered.
How do I use it?
The Ultimate Cover Up foundation comes in a plastic tube and comes as a paste which can be quite a thick in consistency. This spreads out really well, so you only need a tiny little bit to cover your whole face really. So, One tube alone tends to last for ages, even with daily use.
I like to squeeze the tube gently until I get a little bit on the tip of my finger and dub it onto my skin before applying it with my finger, spreading it out to cover as much area as I can. You really dont need a lot on one area as its very heavy anyway, so doesn’t need much to do its job.
I personally like to start on my top lip and then around my chin area to cover any growth shadow and then smooth out the sides. This will give the face a nice and smooth texture all over. Now you can use this as your foundation and apply your powder. But I like to use my own Foundation on top, just using the Ultimate Cover Up as a primer. So I’ll now be ready to apply my foundation on top.
When covering a tattoo, I’d use the same method, massaging the paste onto the skin in a circular motion with my fingertip, over the Tattooed area.

How much does it cost?
Another one of the great things about Ultimate cover Up is that for such a useful product, it isn’t expensive. I can usually pick up a 70ml tube for around £10-15 which lasts me quite some time. In fact, the last tube I finished, lasted me about a year. That was using it almost every day as well. You really dont need much of it at all even when youre covering your whole face as a foundation. But when youre using it as a primer like I do, then you need even less.
