The Last White Christmas was written and performed by the Basement 5 and sings about the changing tide in the newly formed Zimbabwe and the demise of Ian Smiths Rhodesia. It makes a very interesting timepeice in lyrical history or folklore. This song was written at a time when Zimbabwe was only just born and Robert Mugabe had only just taken over. However, as we have seen over the years, things there have been pretty crazy and perhaps not as ideals may have accounted for.
