Hi there all you lovely people! I hope you are all keeping well. It’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted. Well unfortunately I had a slight technical hitch. My laptop broke down. But last night I managed to buy a Cheap Laptop computer from Facebook which turned out to be a pretty good deal and I was very happy with the result. But What a Day it has been!
What a Day
It’s actually been a crazy week as far as technology has gone for me. Its been almost a couple of weeks since the screen on my other laptop went, which is actually a friends which was borrowed. So, I’ve been trying to do as much work as i can on my mobile phone. But although I’ve been technically able to access my WordPress Back-end on my website here. But the practicality of it has been pretty much impossible due to the size of my telephone screen. That combined with my blurred eyes, nipping at the strain of trying to read on a device so small.
So, I decided to treat myself and buy myself a new laptop. Not a brand new one I decided that today I would treat myself and buy myself a ne laptop. Not a brand new one but something good enough at a cheap price. So I had a look online and saw a few good bargains. However, some of them were out of my budget but still, there seemed to be a few good deals within what I had to spend.
Well, I ended up talking to a guy who had a few to sell, so decided to go for the Acer Aspire 3. It’s a few years old but has an i5 processor and 4Gb of Ram which is good enough and fast enough for what I need right now and we’ll also be powerful enough to play most Steam Games on. So I arranged to pop into Glasgow in the evening and pick it up.
Disaster Strikes
So I was in the shopping center today when I went to the toilet, only to drop my phone down the pan. I managed to grab it ou quick as it was still upright (the water was still clean by the way. It hadn’t been used. Just in case you were wondering.?), so it didnt appear at first that it was damaged and i managed t dry off any surface water. But soon after, it was dead, and although the lght comes on, its still not trning on.
So, I didn’t worry too much at first as i have a Samsung Galaxy that i have been thinking about getting unlocked from the Virgin Network to work on my own Smarty Network as it gives me all the communication i want for £18 a month. However, when i got to the phone stall in the shopping centre, they had closed for the night.
Damn! It was my Sony Experia E which was old anyway but it was the only one i could get my sim to work on and i needed phone and internet tonight. Not tomorrow. So I decided to go into CEX and buy a Windows Phone that was unlocked pretty cheap, although still an unplanned expense.
More Delays
Then, after I’d bought it, realised there was no charge in it so i decided to come home and charge it before i could go pick up the laptop in Glasgow. That took forever to charge as it took me ages to find right micro SIM slot before i could even start charging it.
Then I decided that I would wear my makeup, which took me a little time to do, although it’s amazing how much quicker it can be done when you’re in hurry isn’t it. So didn’t get down to the train station until 8 o’clock, only to see the Glasgow Train pull away in front of me. Half an hour until the next train. So I had to stand like a numpty at Bathgate station freezing for another half hour before the train come.
Then when i finally got on the train, the jobsworth conductor charged me the full fare. But at least it got me there, albeit late. The only other thing i had to do was get the bank. But I figured that as there was once outside Scotstounhill Station, i’d just get that.
A Whole Loada Mucking Around
But when i finally got there after changing at Partick cos it no longer is one straight train journey to Scotstounhill from Bathgate like it used to be, I discovered that there was no bank Machin there. So I started walking up towards the flats where I was buying the laptop, hoping that somewhere along the way, I’d see a hole in the wall to get the money out.
No way I could i find one and ended up having to walk up miles to the Great Western Road to find a bank. A Street about 10 miles long , full of kebab shops, Indian restaurants and takeaways as well as shops and mores to the point, bank machines. But I had to land on the one mile stretch that has fuck all on it but houses. Noooo way! i thought. Seemed like walking for miles on a treadmill and going nowhere.
Eventually I found a garage that had a hole i the wall and charged me £1.99 to get my own money out. Robbing bastards! So now i had the money, i went back down to the flats, this time to discover that the one block the guy lived in was right at the top of the hill. Great!
Result!
Anyway, once i got up there n collected the laptop. i was well chuffed and couldn’t wait to get home again to try it out. But first i had to get a train home and was very lucky to manage o catch the last one of the night, just n time.
So it was about half past midnight by the time i actually finally got home last night where, after the kettle was put on, i had the laptop switched on straight away and got into checking it out. I’m very pleased with it and it seems to run really fast. So Now I’m Happy I have full connection with the worldwide web again which is my livelihood nowadays. So now that i have that, i’m sure i can make wonders happen like i always do. Hehe
Have great Day Folks!
