So, I’m glad to still be writing up these blog posts and going them to you despite the trying times of technological hardship. Times like this require a little bit of innovation and Improvisation to keep things running.
Innovation and Improvisation in trying times.
So, I have to say that I’ve seen much better circumstances when it comes to technological comfort. In fact, I remember using even the old slow computers like the Commodore 64 (showing my age. Lol) and still it was easier to write a sentence. You just typed the words and they came up on the screen. But lately, in order to complete such a simple task it takes a little bit of improvisation and working with what I’ve got at hand.
Technological Hell ,
As it stands, I technically have 4 computers. Yet, there’s not one of them that I can use to justify at sit down and write this blog. Instead I have to work between devices. I currently have 2 laptops and 2 phones.
Well, I actually have 3 phones but with the 3rd being a Tenner burner phone that is only any use for calls and texts, it’s not worth mentioning. The other 2 phones are smartphones. Pocket computers actually faster and more powerful than my laptops. At least the one I’m using g to create this blog post anyway.
The problem with this laptop is that it doesn’t have a working keyboard. It seems as the CTRL button is jammed because each time you press a key, it works a function instead of typing the chosen letter. My other laptop, faster and more powerful as it’s a gaming laptop. Or at least it would be if it had an operating system.
But unfortunately after a factory reset due to getting kicked out of my own laptop, it needs to be reinstalled using a boot disc which I don’t currently have. Of course, I can download and burn a free boot disc from the windows website on this laptop except it has no Disc drive. Catch 22.
Saved by the Bell
Well, thankfully these days, mobile phones are now no longer simply phones. They are pocket computers often more powerful than actual Laptops and desktops. So, I was fortunate enough to be able to log in to my website here on my good Oppo phone which i pretty much use for everything. This way I can write my blogs using my phone keypad. It can be a bit frustrating using the keypad but it’s not too small and is better than not being able to write at all. As is the case with this laptop.
Duelling devices
So, I’d write my blogs up using my phone, then switch to the laptop to add media, links etc and touch it up before launching each blog post. I can also use my phone to take any pictures I want to add to my posts and s Nd them to my laptop using Messenger. Then I can just log into Facebook on my laptop, find the uploaded photos in messenger to download them to the laptop.
Then I can upload them again to my website using the laptop as it’s better for that. It’s a great phone that is and works really well. Or it least it did work really well until the screen fell off it and broke the other day.
Time for more Improvisation
So, that’s probably gonna cost me another £70 for a new screen unless they can fix the connection ok without Having to replace the screen altogether. But luckily in the meantime, I still have my little Alcatel phone which isn’t anything special and has little storage. But it has a working keypad.
So, I’ve been writing my website content on messenger and sending it to myself on Facebook Messenger just like the photos. Then I can access it on my laptop and then copy n paste it into my website blog post a little bit at a time. This little trick also works for anything else I need to type on the laptop
A Job well done
So thankfully, due to a little bit of innovation and Improvisation, It gets each blog post completed. I must admit, it’s not as comfortable and as simple as it is when you’re sat down at a computer that actually works. But it does the trick and gets the job done. I must also say that it is handy to have access to working computers at the local library nearby. I do like to go down there sometimes and just get a little of writing g do e in the comfort of having a good old fashioned keyboard that works to use.
Hot off the Press
So yeah. That’s basically how I’m writing my content at the moment. But it works pretty well in a lot of ways. Some toys f which I may carry on using even after I get back to normal with a working computer in from of me.
It’s great to be able to write whilst on the move as I find this is usually when I feel the most inspired. All I gave to do is get my phone out and write. Even if it’s just a paragraph or two. I can just send it to myself on messenger then put it all together later on the laptop.
So I aim to have fresh content pouring out as usual if not more. You can keep updated with all my latest posts by joining my VIP club in the link below. It’s really quick, easy and completely free and will bring you all my hot content straight off the Press.
