So, I was just down at the library there and quite enjoyed spending some time on a proper computer that works and types fine, unlike my own laptop that has a sticky keyboard. So it’s useless for typing and so I r been using multiple devices for doing different things, including writing this post.
Multiple devices.
So like in the instance of this post that I actually started on my phone whilst walking back from the shop, I can then use other devices to publish the post. It’s handy being able to log into the same thing on numerous devices and work at stuff as you go.
Dodgy laptop
My laptop, which is my only decent size computer in the house is just doing my head in cos the keyboard is playing up and sticking. Seems like the CTRL button is jammed and I can’t seem to unjam it. But whenever I press a key, it reads it a function and starts opening things. So I can’t really type on the laptop. Although, for very basic essentials, .
I can use the copy and paste functions alongside a notepad file I keep open that has useful stuff like the A-Z alphabet in both upper and lower case as well as 0-9 keys, various special characters alongside a mix of useful emails that I might need to use regularly such as to log on to sites, although Google is quite handy at remembering passwords that you regularly use so that’s handier.
It’s mainly used for media but for things like a blog post etc, it can be handy for graphics n stuff that mainly uses the cursor rather than the keypad The worst of it is I have an even better laptop that I can’t get to work as the operating system has been wiped and I can’t seem to get it to install a new one
Pocket size phone
I must admit, I do tend to use my phone for most things now. But as a result of its dinky sized screen and keypad, I tend to be a lot more minimalistic with my usage as I don’t have the patience to sit down and spend a lot of time on it as I would a decent working computer. Library computer The library computer is handy for being able to sit down, get comfortable and just write, because it has an old school keyboard and monitor like that of my old desktop which I miss so much. It’s all good and well having snazzy devices for on the move, but sometimes you just can’t beat being able to sit down comfortably upright at a desk and type away in comfort without having to squint at the screen or fiddle with the keypad to type. Purpose built and does what it says on the box. Perfect for just getting into the zone and churning out loads of copy
Inter device posting.
So with each of these devices having their own pros and cons, it’s often useful to work within them all . This post for instance. I started it off while the words were still fresh in my head but I was outside walking. So I can either log into my website dashboard on the phone, or do what I do so often for multiple purposes; use the good old Facebook messenger.
Facebook messenger
You see, apart from just being useful for chatting to people on the other side of the world without having to pay international call rates, the Facebook messenger also offers free online storage, and can be used over multiple devices. I simply log into Facebook on my laptop and type my passage on the messenger on my phone. I usually open a conversation with my other Facebook account so I’m only sending it to myself. When I’m finished writing, I click send. Then I go back the the laptop, open my messenger conversation where I’ll see the text I’ve just wrote. All I need to do now, is copy n paste it into my website if I’m writing an article like this. Or else paste it into the relevant place when typing with the copy n paste alphabet system gets too much. I can just switch to typing on my phone and send it through to the laptop using the messenger.
Graphics
Once I’ve successfully copied all the copy I’ve been writing over into the website, I can use the laptop to deal with the graphics. I could of course di this in the phone directly, but I find the laptop is much better for such tasks as its bigger so you can chill and get a good feel for it. The phone takes a bit more mucking around with as it’s so small .
I need a good PC
I do really miss having my old PC handy with the good old cd fashioned monitor, keyboard and mouse. Those machines are just great for relaxing and getting into whether it’s an article your writing or playing a game. They’re just the ultimate machines. I need to get one asap.
Getting back into the swing of it.
So it’s kinda been a while since I’ve been putting much new content until today. But I’m hoping that now I have this little system sussed out, I’ll be able to get back into posting regular content again I’ve had so many good ideas to write about over the past few months, but it’s just been such a hassle trying to get a post together on devices that hardly work alongside a website that was down for ages due to technical issues on my webhosting end that took me a while to get sorted out.
Stay tuned
So hopefully that means I’ll be back on form again with regular posts and updates. So be sure to hit the subscribe link below to stay tuned and keep updated with all my future material as soon as it’s published.
