Hey there everyone. Once again, I must apologise for the length of time its been since my last post, but its been quite tricky getting my head together to get down to the library and get writing. But today, I thought I’d get on here and give y’all a little update and let you know about how I decided to change my hair back to Blonde.
Going Back to Blonde
So, I recently decided to go for a little change in hair colour and go back to blonde, as it is after all my natural hair colour. But its been a little while since its actually been blonde since I have been dying it all different colours over the years and recently have been wearing different coloured wigs. But I decided to try a blonde wig for the sake of a little change and I’m really starting to warm to it.
Naturally Blonde
When I was a little toddler, my hair was proper bright blonde as if it had been bleached. But as I got older, it kind of darkened more into a light brownish strawberry blonde.
Then, of course, for many years, I would bleach it and it would be bright blonde again but wasn’t really natural, having come from a bottle. I used to love dying my hair too. So I’ve had my hair almost every colour you can imagine over the years.
However, I decided fairly recently to stop dying my hair ultra bright colours since it involved bleaching my hair first to get the dye to work correctly. This was because I was starting to notice the damage to my scalp and thinning hair due to all the years of bleaching. So instead, I’ve been using thicker dyes like henna which have usually came in darker colours like copper, dark red and plum.
Wearing Wigs
So, a couple of years ago, I decided to start wearing a wig all the time whilst my hair grew in. I kinda started wearing one now and then and still would just brush my own hair which was in the style of a mohawk at the time (the style I’ve mostly had since I was about 15) which I had dyed bright blue at the time.
But as my own natural hair started growing in, it started to look messy and silly, being different lengths. But I wanted to grow it in and let it grow long. So, I had the choice of either shaving my sides and making it look tidy again or just grin, bear it and let it grow long until it got long enough to have cut so as to level it out. So, I decided to do that and just wear my wig all the time.
My hair has always been very slow at growing as its naturally quite thin and I’ve had a few times where I’ve been tempted to just abandon it and shave my mohawk back, just for the sake of tidying it up. But its finally starting to look like its getting somewhere at long last and I plan to get it cut fairly soon. But I’m gonna give it a few more weeks yet before I do so that I can have more hair to work with when it gets levelled out. But I am looking forward to being able to just wear my natural hair again, especially as the summer is almost upon us.
Different colours
So, when I first started wearing wigs, I went for Black and soon after, settled for Brown which I stuck with for a couple of years almost. But then I decided to try a dark red wig which later developed into amore lighter and brighter Red which I did like, so stuck with that for a few months.
I got myself a Blonde wig a few months ago but never really wore it. It probably sounds really stupid as most people can probably tell that I’m wearing a wig anyway. Yet, I still felt that if I was to chop and change my hair every day, then people would notice i was wearing a wig (as if they hadn’t already). I don’t know why I’d let this even bother me anyway, but I guess perhaps I just relate the idea of wearing a wig as being fake and I would of course much rather have my own long hair, I need to be patient till it grows in. So i’ll settle for wearing a wig for the time being.
Blonde again
So, my last red wig was getting a bit tangled as it was getting past its best and was time for me tpo get another. So, having an appointment to go to, I decided to wear my blonde wig as it was still brand new condition.
After wearing it for the day, I decided that I quite liked the look of it, so I figured I’d give it a little trial run n carry on wearing it for a couple of weeks to see how i liked the feel of it. Well, I must say, after a couple of weeks, I’ve really started to warm to it. So, I think I’m gonna stick with the Blonde for a little while at least.
Hopefully soon, my own hair will be long enough to get levelled out so that I don’t need to keep it covered up all the time due to it looking stupid with one side longer than the other. So hopefully I’ll get that trimmed and wont need to wear wigs for much longer. But for the time being, I do like the Blonde one. So, here’s to Blonde.
